Tuesday Travels_ Packing HacksI have always been determined to find the best way to pack – the most efficient especially for my habit of overpacking. These packing hacks save me every time! I usually use the method of rolling every article of clothing as tightly as I can and then smooshing it into my suitcase. When I found out I was traveling to Italy for 6 weeks, I was determined to fit everything in a suitcase bigger than my carry-on but smaller than my huge suitcase.

Luckily, K bought me the cutest little suitcase that was the perfect size (28 inches tall, maybe). Then I was browsing in HomeGoods and found the perfect travel bags that you can put your clothes in and roll the air out (most of them you need a vacuum & I would not have access to a vacuum in Italy) so these were perfect. I bought a box that has two medium sizes and one large, so I could use the medium ones when I go backpacking for two weeks.

These were the best investment ever! I still rolled my clothes but instead I put them in these bags and was able to suck all of the air out! I brought 13 dresses/rompers, 7 shirts, two jeans, 4 shorts, and some pajamas/undergarments. After all my clothes I was able to fit my shoes and hygiene items on the other side. Which worked out extremely well.

When it comes to hats, stuff them with clothes! They won’t lose their shape and you will be happier in the long run when it comes time to wear them. Also stuff socks in your shoes, they will hold their shape and take up less space.

As far as hygiene products, bring travel sizes to save on space or purchase some items there. I was able to pack items for 6 weeks and although a little difficult, these hacks saved my life!

PACK LESS. I really should take my own advice, but I am an overpacker, so these hacks help me so much! Basic items, simple shirts and shorts that can be dressed up or down make a HUGE difference! + I wear these items all the time!

LEAVE SPACE IN YOUR BAG. For souvenirs and such. I packed an empty duffle bag to bring back goodies with me!

ACCESSORIES ARE UNNECESSARY. One or two pieces here and there, but other than that, you will end up wearing the same items over and over!

I do wish I brought a little bit bigger suitcase for souvenirs and little things that I am bringing back, but it is what it is. These roll-out air bags have saved my life!
