Meet Ellen!
I’m Ellen, author of the fashion and lifestyle blog, A Pop of Pink! I’m from Pennsylvania, and I’m a senior at the University of Pittsburgh. A few things I love are iced coffee, monograms, Reese Witherspoon movies, and the beach. The inspiration to create my blog came from a passion for writing, an infatuation with the color pink, and a love for fashion.
Why did you start a blog?
I started blogging after I stopped writing for the local newspaper as a freelance staff writer. I’ve always been a writer, so blogging seemed like the next step for me. I wanted to voice my thoughts and share my passions, while meeting other bloggers who had the same interests as me. I haven’t regretted starting A Pop of Pink one bit.

Book Review: Bossypants by Tina Fey
I’m always looking for a good, light-hearted read when school and textbooks aren’t occupying my life 24/7. Tina Fey’s Bossypants has been recommended on several lists as a book you should read in your 20s, including here on Buzzfeed. It couldn’t be more true.
Not only is Bossypants witty and charming, but it’s also honest and genuine. Tina’s rise to starring on Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock, and A-List funny woman didn’t come easy. And she’s not afraid to share that. She discusses issues like body image, sexism, and motherhood, issues that every woman thinks about. She’s like any other woman chasing her dreams, proving that it’s not all glitter and gold.
I also laughed out loud reading Bossypants. No joke. It felt like I was sipping coffee with Tina on my couch as she went on about her mistakes and embarrassing moments, laughing at every word that came out of her mouth.
If you’re looking for a short, funny book, Bossypants is for you. You’ll get tidbits of advice sprinkled with Tina’s life story. It’s not a deep memoir, though. You won’t cry, unless it’s from laughing. But sometimes, that’s all a girl needs in a book.
