The other half the story… the night before I barely slept. I tossed and turned all night and maybe got a mere three hours of good sleep. I woke up in pain from sleeping in an awkward position with a strenuous pain in my neck that hurt to even move. On top of this pain , congestion and a sore throat made it worse. I took a deep breath and told myself to do what I do best, get ready.

Getting ready is part of my daily ritual. Spending ten minutes to curl my hair, another five on makeup, and then the hard part, picking out what to wear, sometimes the most stressful part of my morning, but I do it with joy. Plus I got to wear my cute Free People Find from TJMaxx.

Finished getting ready, ran out the door to work, started driving. Went to change lanes and it was like I gave myself whip lash as I checked behind my shoulder. Struggled the rest of the way.

Got to work, enjoyed the time I got to spend with the little one and then headed to school. Bribed K in to snapping some photos of me (his poor self was sick as a bug and he still did it with a smile). As I dreaded going to lectures and suffered through them, I realized how fortunate I am. I woke up alive, I have a job that I absolutely LOVE, I am this close (6 months) away from graduating college, I have a wonderful and supporting family, my fiancé encourages me to be the best version of me that I can be, I came home to a homemade lunch and dinner today, and I am surrounded by the sweetest of friends.

So as I sit here with neck pain and congestion, I look at the above photos and I see happiness and adventure waiting to happen. Whether you know just the first half of the story, the second half of the story, or the entire story, that is up to you. But today was one for the books. It’s the little things.
